Donna Kurrell STMA Super Para Needs Our Help
Donation protected
Hello- My name is Kathy Draeger. Our dear friend Donna Kurrell suffered a catastrophic medical emergency on November 1st, 2022. Donna works as a transportation para professional for special needs students in the STMA school district. Donna started her morning as usual. A short time after starting work, Donna exhibited signs of a stroke. A call was made to 911, and Donna was transported to North Memorial in Robbinsdale. Doctors discovered a devastating brain bleed causing Donna's decline. The family had a very heart-wrenching decision to make. The decision was made for Donna to have surgery (a craniotomy on the right side of her skull), where they removed a part of Donna's skull to relieve the pressure in her brain. The surgery went well as they were able to stop the bleeding. The fight for Donna's recovery begins.
I know few people in my life who are like Donna. Donna is a spitfire. A woman who is kind, generous, extremely hard working, a caregiver, loves kids, funny, loves concerts, nachos, beer, and most of all her family, friends and living life.
Now Donna and her family need us. We need to help raise money to help with medical bills and the loss of income. Donna works as a transportation para for STMA and her husband works as a bus driver in the STMA district. Her husband Chuck puts in a lot of hours as a bus driver. So they won't have income from work while out. He and Donna are twins- they never say no to helping out. Now they need us.
Donna's recovery is going to be a long road. And her husband, Chuck, needs to be beside her.
Donna's recovery will be long-term. She will need many things that insurance will not cover. I hope to raise money to help with those things so Donna and Chuck can focus on getting better. They are such giving people. Our time to give back.
