Donna Hazelwood needs your support

Heather Dausman Abell’s mother, Donna Hazelwood was admitted into the hospital on Christmas Day. She had undiagnosed pneumonia that sev doctors had missed. On Christmas Day she also tested positive for the flu and became septic ( blood infection).  Two days later she had to be placed on a ventilator and Heather had her moved to Gateway Deaconness in Newburgh, IN. The ICU doctor decided to fly her instead of going by ambulance due to her status. She was also diagnosed with ARDS acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Heather’s mom is still in critical condition and there have been sev setbacks with some progress.

During the first few days she also suffered from broken heart syndrome that is similar to a heart attack.

Trying to manage her finances and short term disability through her work has been extremely difficult bc we do not have power of attorney.  We finally have an emergency guardianship hearing today that should allow us to keep her insurance and benefits going.

With two young kids at home and the distance from Bowling Green, KY to Newburgh, IN it has been extremely difficult to try and manage.

If if you are able please consider donating to allow us to mange her mortgage, work benefits, etc while my wife, additional family, and I navigate this difficult time.

Donna Hazelwood lost the battle last night. She passed away around 630 pm surrounded by close family. She will surely be missed. We love you Donna.
