Donna Grice was our second Unsung Hero and has been working at WashU for 30 years. When we interviewed her in 2017, she told us that the part of her job that she loved the most was getting to know the students, who she calls her kids.


Last month, Donna’s nephew passed away suddenly, leaving behind 10 children who love him very much. Donna and her mother adopted and raised him and his two siblings when he was just 5 years old. 


Donna and her family are devastated by this tragedy, and in addition to the emotional trauma, are struggling to pay for the funeral costs. Donna has become an irreplaceable part of our community, and we want to give back by helping her through this overwhelming time.
