Haken voor klimroutes Curacao - Bolts for climbing Curacao

Hallo allemaal! Ik ben Stefan, en ik zamel geld in om ook dit jaar weer nieuwe klimroutes toe te voegen en bestaande routes te herbehaken in Curacao.

Normaalgesproken worden wij jaarlijks gesteund met een donatie haken vanuit de NKBV (Nederlandse Klim- en Bergsport Vereniging). Helaas is daar dit jaar geen budget voor beschikbaar.

Daarom organiseer ik een aantal initiatieven om geld bij elkaar te krijgen, zowel in Nederland als in Curacao. Het doel is voldoende geld te verzamelen om haken en ankers te kopen voor 20 nieuwe routes. Met dat aantal houden we de ontwikkeling op tempo. We zijn van plan haken te kopen bij https://www.titanclimbing.com/: ons tropische zeeklimaat maakt het noodzakelijk te investeren in titanium. Een deel van de haken is voor nieuwe routes. Een ander deel is bedoeld om bestaande verroeste (niet-titanium) haken te vervangen.

Sinds 2018 ben ik bezig met de droom om van Curacao een eiland te maken waar je kunt rotsklimmen. Ik doe dit parallel aan de initiatieven van de commerciele organisatie Rock Climbing Curacao, als vrijwilliger en met ondersteuning van de NKBV en op vrij toegankelijke locaties.

Het is klein begonnen, met 1 route bij Fort Beekenburg in 2018. Daarna groeide het uit. Ik realiseerde de klimgebieden Fort Beekenburg en Kabrietenberg, en maakte daarvoor gratis downloadbare klimgidsjes (respectievelijk https://tinyurl.com/2p98stmd en https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g1igiEIaEByxk6W2FUAKXkcM5kC9B8r5/view?usp=sharing). Er is een 'bolting workshop' georganiseerd om behakers op te leiden. De activiteiten van deze nieuwe behakers leidden tot de ontwikkeling van de klimgebieden Punta Partawela, Mirador en Seru Sablika en uitbreidingen van Roi Rincon. Ook zijn een aantal oude haken vervangen bij Seru Pretu. Ons community materiaaldepot, gerealiseerd met ondersteuning vanuit het bedrijfsleven, is recent uitgebreid met een accuboor, waadoor al het noodzakelijke materiaal om te behaken vanuit dit depot beschikbaar is. Recent is er begonnen met werk aan een klimgids voor het hele eiland.

Mijn oproep is gericht aan iedereen, die de ontwikkeling van het rotsklimmen in Curacao een warm hart toedraagt. Ondersteun ons alsjeblieft via deze actie.

Hello everyone! I am Stefan, and I am raising money to add new climbing routes and re-bolts existing climbing routes in Curacao this year.

Normally, we are supported on an annual basis with a donation of bolts from the NKBV (Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Association). Unfortunately, there is no budget available for this year.

That is why I am organizing a number of initiatives to raise money. The goal is to raise enough money to buy bolts and anchors for 20 new routes. With that number, we'll keep the development going without losing our pace. We plan to buy bolts from https://www.titanclimbing.com/: our tropical maritime climate makes it necessary to invest in titanium. Some of the bolts are for new routes. Some are intended to replace existing rusted (non-titanium) bolts.

Since 2018 I have been working on the dream of making Curacao an island where you can do rock climbing. I do this in parallel to the initiatives of the commercial organization Rock Climbing Curacao, as a volunteer and with the support of the NKBV and at freely accessible locations.

It started small, with 1 route at Fort Beekenburg in 2018. Then it grew. Our community material depot, realized with support from the business community, has recently been expanded with a cordless drill, so that all the necessary equipment for bolting is available from this depot.
