My name is Rashida Patterson, eldest daughter of Donavan Patterson. I think we all dread and never think of the day that we will lose a parent and for me it was definitely true. I will not say he was perfect but he most definitely never gave up on raising us into the individuals we are today. I am currently in the United Kingdom as a teacher with my son and my siblings are back in Jamaica where my dad is as well. Unfortunately because he was in and out of the hospital, and I have just recently lost almost £10,000 against the UK home office in a case to get my son, we are all in a financial bind. In a time where we are in immense emotional distress, unfortunately we are also seeking some assistance. As the funeral is in Jamaica, the exchange rate allows for this £3,000 - £4,000 to be extremely helpful as it translates to roughly $600,000 to $800,000 JMD.

Myself, older brother and younger sister (his children) are seeking financial help in this very difficult time. We plan to use the proceeds for return tickets for myself and my son's return ticket £1,500, approximately £1,300 for the funeral package and about £1,200 for other expenses towards the other miscellaneous that may arise.
