Hi, my name is Cat, long story short a few weeks back we was in our garden doing bits and we heard a shout for help... We finally found where it was coming from and it was the lady from 2 doors down and she had fallen in her garden.. now.. before I go further let me give you some context... Her name is Karen... We had not really met her before this point and was not aware of her situation until getting to know her this past few weeks... She is 76... Has many health issues with mobility, diabetes, fractured back, COPD and she is heavily medicated also with the worse issue being cataracts and can't see more than 5 inches from her face.

I'll be honest she is not in the most hygienic condition due to not being able to access hot water and the bathroom ... .. ... I won't go into too much detail about her past but she's had it rough with losing her child and husband and is currently living in conditions not suitable for any human... She was supposed to be being cared for by a family friend who has done nothing but take advantage for years including spending on her bank card and has sadly left her property in a disgusting state and disappeared weeks at a time until we got involved... She is unaware of this gofundme entry and would be embarrassed if she found out... We have asked environmental health, adult social care and every other avenue for help and they have pushed the case to the side and their main response is to evict her... its been her home for 40+ years !

we are hoping that between the decency that's left in the world and ourselves (me and my partner) working hard maybe we can help get her through this... She isn't aware of how bad it really is but hopefully with the photos provided you can see and agree it's no place to live especially when it's covered with flies... she is a proud woman who doesn't like asking for help but we all need it sometimes... People say it's her own fault but based on my experience and what I've seen I strongly believe this is a case of neglect and she needs serious help .. I don't like asking for money but I also can't financially afford to help her, I wish I could But I can't leave her like that... So I'll give this a go and hope for the best and if all else fails I will have to put myself in debt because if it was my family member I'd be mortified... There is so much more to this but I can't put it into words... It's just not right and with your help we can get people to help, a van or a skip to start clearing it, cleaning products, fumigation, and maybe some clothes replacement for her... I'm begging for help.. I struggle to sleep at night knowing this is happening so close to me... Please guys we are all human
