The money donated to this GoFundMe will provide financial assistance to Claire Applin, Peter Applin’s widow. A couple of weeks ago Peter, at age 55, had a massive heart attack and was air-lifted to Mass General to be evaluated for a heart transplant. During his week-long stay, Peter was placed on life support and endured several surgeries trying to stabilize him. He succumbed to a stroke and died last Friday with his wife and son by his side. Though Pete had insurance, his wife has been left with extensive bills and funeral costs. And Pete, who worked contract work cataloging for libraries, had been out of work since COVID disrupted so many libraries more than a year ago.
The family is planning a small service for Pete and ask that in lieu of flowers, folks donate to this GoFundMe to help his wife through this incredibly heartbreaking and financially challenging time. Pete was a kind loving soul and loved his wife, kids, grandkids and extended family more than life itself. Any donations that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
