My father Safwat Dien passed away June 25th 2022 at 59 years old. After five long years of fighting Cancer.
3 separate rounds of Chemo, 7 Radiations, 3 Clinical Trials, Surgery and many Medications he can finally rest after doing everything he possibly could.
The last year and a bit, the cancer and the treatments made him blind, unable to walk, and eventually not even speak. It was hard to watch, and my mother supported him in every way imaginable.
He was the primary income in the family, and with this happening was unable to work, and much of the bills was put on credit.
A Skilled Craftsman, who worked at the Waterloo courthouse, to the Childrens Hospital in London, the ROM in Toronto, and the Foodcourts in Square One Mall are just some things you may walk past that his hands had a part of making.
He really worked until he couldn't, he loved what he did.
There are many people who have sent kind messages saying they want to support us, but are unsure how.
It is really hard, and a bit embarrassing to ask for money, but I know it could really help my mother, his wife Delia, who is grieving very much.
Money would be used to pay off this debt accumulated and for funeral costs. He decided before hand to go with the least expensive option to not burden us as much. It will be very small, and intimate with just his sons and wife.
If you've worked with Safwat, been his friend, family member or just want to help, please consider donating whatever you feel.
