Hello, my name is Dana and I am asking for help for my sister Nakita and her family as they are having a difficult time affording medical expenses. A few years back Nakita needed to have a gastric sleeve surgery due to many persisting health issues. She appropriately lost weight until it became uncontrollable and unstable. She proceeded to have tests done to indicate the problem and had to have her thyroid removed. When a biopsy was done the doctors found two types of thyroid cancer. She then had a PET scan which indicated further issues. Soon she will undergo radiation therapy to treat the remaining cancer. Nakita currently has a pick line she lives with daily that is meant to directly provide her body with nutrition that she otherwise cannot absorb. Although the pick line has helped, she is still unable to retain the proper amount her body requires. She has recently had several trips to the E.R. due to blood sugar bottoming out and hemorrhaging. She is seeing many specialists and the bills and copays have become more than her family can handle.
