In Memory of our dear baby "King" - Carter E. Patterson

Donation protected
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL GOFUNDME PAGE FOR CARTER PATTERSON
My name is Kesha Smith, and I am the grandmother of 4-year-old Carter Elijah Patterson, who we lost in a tragic accident earlier this week. I have created this page in the hopes that my son, Christopher Savon Patterson II, can keep financial worries at bay while he is dealing with this painful loss. There is no pain like that of losing a child, which is why Chris has made the decision to donate his son's organs—to help other parents avoid the incomparable pain he is experiencing right now. After organ recipients have been matched, we will proceed with arrangements to lay Carter to rest.

My son, Chris, is Carter's parent and best friend. Carter always said, "Daddy is my best friend," and Chris would say the same. If I called my son and asked, "What are you guys up to?" He would reply, "Just hanging with my best friend." They would play video games, watch animated movies and cartoons, play in the park, visit his siblings, travel to visit family, go to museums and Chuck E. Cheese, anywhere they could have fun together. Their favorite time together was walking to and from school holding hands, talking and pointing out all of the animals that they would see in passing. (they were always being followed by a dog or a cat!) :-)
Carter's Granddad, Chris Sr., is a big kid at heart just like his son and grandson. When the three of them were together, it always turned into a "boy fest" of running and jumping and playing!

Carter has touched lives all over the world and was deeply loved by all. He has joined me on Zoom calls from Hong Kong to Australia and back to the U.S.! He was a joy to be around and anyone in his presence would suddenly have the urge to hug and kiss him.

Carter leaves behind his siblings Aaliyah (12), Denzel (9), and a bonus sibling, Caiden (4). These children are devastated by this loss and will undoubtedly require countless hours of therapy to help them through this tragedy.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go toward a homegoing tailored to Carter's beautiful spirit—joyful and full of life. There is nothing more tragic than a funeral for a child, and I am hoping as Carter watches over the homegoing, he will see photos of himself smiling, posters of his favorite superheroes like Spiderman and the Hulk, and the world sharing memories of his beautiful life that was tragically cut short.

We accept all prayers, thoughts, and kind words and thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and support. We thank the family and news stations that have given updates to the world when we were unable to do so. Thank you all!
I will update this page with funeral information, including a date and location, when we have made final arrangements. We are tentatively looking at Carter's birthday, April 24th, for his homegoing.

There is no GoFundMe page, other than this one, that guarantees all donations go directly toward any medical costs and Carter's homegoing service.
