Ann Butterworth Feakins of Virginia Beach, age 70, died on May 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late John Forrest and Jean (Fricke) Butterworth of Madison, NJ.

Ann, who grew up in Madison, NJ, graduated from Kent Place School in 1969 and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Smith College in 1973.

Ann is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul Martin Feakins, and her three children, Liz Feakins Welburn and her husband Peter of Wellesley, MA; Susan Feakins Masry and her husband Avi of Scarsdale, NY; and Nicholas Paul Feakins and his wife Allie of Richmond, VA, as well as her siblings Susan Lord, Caroline Forsman, and John Butterwoth and her 6 grandchildren: Lila, Piper, Benjamin, Robert, Samuel, and Ashton.

Ann is remembered by the good friends she made during her time living in New Orleans, LA; Jacksonville, FL; Montgomery, AL; Princeton, NJ; and Tidewater, VA.

Ann was committed to community service, serving for many years as a regular driver for LEE'S FRIENDS, an organization providing free services to cancer patients.

More information about LEE'S FRIENDS:

LEE'S FRIENDS provides free services to the cancer community in southeastern VA. We provide rides to and from doctor's appointments, radiation and chemo treatments. We have trained volunteers that provide emotional support to cancer patients or family members looking for confidential and caring support. We have a small emergency humanitarian grant program offering a one time help to keep the lights on, the water running or even food on the table. We also provide resource referral for services we don't offer.
