Hi everyone, a lot of you know my parents and for those that don’t they have hearts of gold and would never hesitate to help anyone, anyway they could.. now they’re the ones that need some help.. My mom, Vicki Brantner-Olgy, was walking her new rescue dog last night, July 20, 2021. She was crossing at an intersection, in the crosswalk and with a green light, and got hit head on. Ventura fire treated and transported her quickly. She sustained many facial lacerations, head contusions, all over body abrasions, a black eye, broken tibia/fibula in her left leg, and broken cervical vertebra, with that came a quick onset of no feeling/ movement abilities. This resulted in an emergency helicopter to a specialty spinal hospital. 

She has now undergone spinal fusion C2-T2. Unfortunately this isn’t her first spinal injury, she has had previous spinal surgeries starting in 2003 when she got hurt working a job she adored as a special education teacher. We are in day one, but she has limited arm movement and no hand control or leg movement. We're are hoping and praying the surgery is a success and this is only a temporary setback due to surgical swelling.... the doctors have no idea for the outcome, we just have to wait and see.

I know times are hard for everyone right now but with all the treatment that is now needed we would appreciate anything that anyone can spare, all donations will go to the hospital bills and the rehab she needs.

Just wanted to say thank you SO much to everyone who has been able to donate and share this page. My family is so appreciative of the support. As far as any update just know she is receiving tremendous care in the ICU and we’re waiting to see the results of surgery.. we are told by many that this will be a long and slow process.
