In Honor of Lubna Khalid

Dear Family and Friends,

It is deeply emotional to express myself in any way when it comes to losing my best friend Lubna. This is not easy. Like you...I am still processing. I am still in disbelief. Losing someone you love was never meant to be easy, but I cherish fond memories of my soul sister, and I am thankful for them. I was positively impacted by Lubna, and was blessed to have shared life with her for roughly 25 years. I will forever be grateful to her parents, Uzma and Shahid for bringing this beauty into our lives.

I suggested and offered to create a GoFundMe in support of Lubna's family in June after we lost her. Even though I knew that creating this page would become a deeply sad reminder that our beloved is no longer (physically) with us, and I have clearly tried to avoid this at all costs for that very reason...it is here.

We lost our dear Lubna Khalid due to breast cancer on June 16, 2021, at 5:15 PM in her brother Omar's house at Newbury Park, CA. She was with her immediate family at the time and passed peacefully.

Many of you have asked how you can help honor Lubna after her passing. Although her father is able to cover all the medical and funeral costs, it was a great burden on Lubna’s mind that the costs associated with her treatment and living was falling upon him. It is in this spirit that I set up this GoFundMe. I am personally requesting a donation from you to help cover the remaining funeral and medical expenses. Any amount would be truly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Lubna’s father to reimburse him for her medical and funeral costs.
