We regret to inform friends and family of the untimely passing of Officer Edward Nortrup.  On January 19, 2020, Officer Edward Nortrup passed away suddenly following a motor vehicle crash in Matawan, New Jersey. Officer Nortrup was employed by the Roselle Park Police Department since 2007. While employed at the Roselle Park Police Department he served in the Detective Bureau, Community Oriented Policing division, and the Patrol Division. Officer Nortrup was a member of the Union County Emergency Response Team. While a member of the Union County Emergency Response Team, Officer Nortrup was deployed to Puerto Rico immediately following Hurricane Maria which caused catastrophic destruction. Officer Nortrup was also an active  Executive Board Member of PBA Local 27, serving as treasurer since 2012. 

For those fortunate enough to have known or worked with Officer Nortrup will remember him fondly as a caring, compassionate and kindhearted person. Officer Nortrup leaves behind a 15 month old daughter, wife and a large family of parents, siblings and cousins. 

All money raised will go to the benefit of Ed's daughter, Evelyn Nortrup.
