Donations for Nutmegs Chronic Illnesses: B-day Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nutmeg and I struggle with chronic illness. This September for my 28th birthday all I really want is to feel some relief by getting some needed disability aids, paying off bills for my expensive medications, and paying off expensive medical care items etc.

This last year I have been navigating many debilitating new symptoms like resting BPM at 80-120, presyncope making me feel faint, standing BPM 120-160+, chronic nausea, heart palpitations, chest pain, chronic fatigue, joint pain, dizziness, etc. (My doctor and I have strong ideas of the few things it likely is but it takes a while to go through all the testing and rule everything else out.)

These new symptoms are added on top of my distressing neurological symptoms from my Hemiplegic Migraines that I have had now for almost 10 years. Episodes can last for minutes, hours, days, or even weeks.
Symptoms like;
  • paroxysmal episodic neurologic dysfunction (painful involuntary movements/spasms)
  • hemiparesis (weakness on one side of the body affecting arms, legs, face, arms, hands, mouth, throat etc.) This causes loss of balance, coordination, muscle fatigue etc.
  • Dystonia (muscles contract uncontrollably)
  • Migraine pain
  • Numbness
  • Seizure-like episodes (loss of speech, facial drooping, confusion, etc)
  • Aphasia (have trouble understanding, speaking, reading, or writing, forgetting words for things in the moment)

To say the least I have been very overwhelmed. Supporting me getting some of these medical devices, paying off medication bills and stocking up on medical supplies would really make my birthday this year! I hope you will consider donating if you are able. Below is a breakdown of how I would directly be using the funds I raise. I hope you will consider donating only if you are able, and thank you for reading.

Also, Venmo doesn't take a percentage. Venmo @Nutmeg-Minneboo

1. $250 Visible armband year long subscription: A medical armband made for people with chronic illness. The first armband that alerts you when you are over exerting yourself to help reduce over exertion leading to flare-ups and burnout. It also tracks your heart rate continuously and keeps the data when other health watches just average out the data. Averaging out the data does not allow for tracking how my heart rate changes throughout the day during different activities to help better understand how I am affected by different activities.

2. $1,200 Help pay off the last few months of meds: My meds and medical procedures that I need to function are not all fully covered by my insurance and cost $400 to refill, or $400 to get my med injections.

3. $300 Help me buy a bulk of more electrolytes I need to function: I have a hard time absorbing salt and quality electrolytes can help me stay hydrated and feel a little better. LMNT brand, no sugar Liquid IV, and I am going to try Buoy as well. It can cost up to $45 A WEEK to stay hydrated with the good stuff. I have to switch back and forth with lesser quality because I can’t afford it, but the better quality ones help me so so much more. It's night and day!!

4. $350 Help me stock up on vitamins, protein powders etc that I need to keep up my nutrition: I spend around $150/month on different quality vitamins, protein powders, etc. Without my vitamins I become deficient and can be dangerous for my body, and without my protein powders and other dense nutrition snacks, I can become malnourished. I struggle with chronic nausea, and have several difficult dietary restrictions that make eating more and more difficult.

5. $450 Help me with getting new attachments on my wheelchair: I really need to install a headrest, a better cushion, a cane holder, new wheels that allow for more terrain, etc. This way I can stop dropping my cane while i'm in the chair, and if i'm having severe weakness I can lean on my headrest, and my butt wont hurt from sitting in the chair, and I won't get stuck on certain slopes or cracks in the pavement as easily. This way I am also more free to go on gravel trails and other terrain so I can better enjoy my life and be able to explore the world in my wheelchair.
(A BIG thankyou to all who have donated in past fundraisers, thanks to you I do have a wheelchair to upgrade with attachments!)

6. $250 Help me pay for new glasses: I haven’t gotten new glasses in 5 years. I have astigmatism and I can tell my eyes are getting bad (oh no! lol) but glasses resting on the bridge of my nose give me a migraine and contacts on my left eye need a weight in them to face a specific direction because my left eye needs a thick prescription so you could say its been hard for me to figure out for a while. I need to find the most comfortable frames possible.
