Donations for Nathan Wolters

These past few months sure haven't been easy. I met Nathan Wolters in the second grade at the age of 6. Nathan was always beyond his years, and probably one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. From the second grade all the way up until our final year of high school together, Nathan was always the shining star at the top of every class. His attitude and quick wit always kept people on their toes, and he always brought so much genuine love and kindness wherever he went. It wasn't hard for me to become best friends with him. Nathan always kept my head straight, provided me with guidance as a true friend and was around for every huge milestone in my life. I cannot imagine my life without him in it.

About a month ago, Nathan was admitted to the hospital for unsteady health conditions. After many inconclusive tests, Nathan was admitted to Windsor Hospital where he later discovered he tested positive for HIV. Nobody could believe it, but no friends or family gave up the chance to be anything more than supportive.  Some time later after being discharged from the hospital in early October, Nathan was readmitted for severe nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Nathan was diagnosed with AIDS at the young age of 19. He has now been in the hospital for close to 2 months and is being given several types of steroids, medications and supplements daily to help stabilize his condition. Nathan has bravely battled many opportunist infections including Thrush and a very deadly form of Pneumonia, but this doesn't mean there won't be more to fight in the future. AIDS is a deadly disease which destroys and takes over the immune system and allows room for more deadly infections to grow.

Nathan is looking at another little while in the hospital, but when he is discharged he is going to need equipment for his home in Leamington (commode, walker, supplements, etc). My goal of $2,000 is the help to cover the costs of all of the medical supplies he needs, as well as new clothing to fit him after his drastic weight loss.

AIDS doesn't change who  you are as a human being. AIDS doesn't take away someone's value as a person. AIDS doesn't care who you are. There is a huge stigma around it that needs to be stopped IMMEDIATELY. AIDS will never be something that anyone chooses or is ready to tackle.

Nathan will always light up a room. His persistence and his courage never fails to amaze me, and if anyone is deserving of the entire world, it's him. This fight is devastating, and nothing will ever come easily again. If you know Nathan, or simply just know his story, please help him reach this goal. Any donations will help, and any help will be more than greatly appreciated. If you can't donate, reach out and show some love to Nathan!

Thank you in advance!
