Hi, I’m Avas. I’m 33 and I’ve been fighting alcohol dependence for many years, alongside serious mental and physical health difficulties.
Before my health deteriorated, I was studying and working in healthcare and hoped to train as a doctor so I could help people. Over time, my mental health, alcohol dependence and physical health declined to the point where even basic mobility has become difficult.
I have now finally received funding for a 3-month rehab placement in Bournemouth. This is a real chance for me to rebuild my life, but I urgently need a mobility scooter so I can properly take part in the programme and move around safely.
Due to muscle wasting, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and chronic back pain, I struggle to walk steadily or for long distances. A mobility scooter would help me attend group walks, visit parks, go to the cinema, access appointments and take part in work retraining with my rehab peers.
This would not just be a scooter — it would be a tool for recovery, independence and rehabilitation. I am asking for donations so I can secure an electric mobility scooter and cover essential maintenance and insurance.
If 50 people donated £20, or 20 people donated £50, I could reach my goal.
Thank you for reading about my journey and for any generous contribution. I’m already a quarter of the way there, and every donation or share genuinely helps.
