On behalf of the Dodson family...
A GoFundMe account has been set up in Linda’s name as an outlet for the overwhelming and appreciated outpouring of support for her during this difficult time following the passing of her husband Danny after a courageous battle with cancer. A tremendous thank you from the Dodson family, we are truly grateful!
Danny Jay ‘Poppa’ Dodson
May 8, 1956 - July 28, 2020
Danny passed away peacefully at home & surrounded by his family at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his father John Calvin (J.C.), mother Mattie Roberts & brother Donald. He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Jason (wife Mandy), Curtis (wife Marina) & Luke, 9 grandchildren (Brittany, Bailee, Drake, Sawyer, Seth, Benjamin, Baker, Becca & Bru), 2 great-grandchildren (Keith & Layne), brother David, sisters Robbin & Tammy & countless other family & friends. Taft born and raised, Danny attended local schools and met his high school sweetheart Linda at the downtown cruise night where they became inseparable for over 46 years. True to his Taft roots, he worked in the oil industry for most of his life & especially took pride in his years as a volunteer firefighter. The epitome of a handy man, Danny loved working with his hands & checking things off the ‘honey-do’ list. He enjoyed deep sea fishing trips with his boys, weekend escapes to the coast with his wife and never met a toy he didn’t like (or need!). Poppa was his name and spoiling his grandkids was his game & it was a toss up who napped more- him or the babies. Always a big kid at heart, this tootsie roll pop eating jokester will be forever missed.
