Hi, my name is Kathryn Gribbins 

I’m Lainey Ray’s Momma. My baby girl has had the most rough life since she was born, we have been in and out of Nortons Children Hospital since she was 6weeks old. ICU month stays at a time, also we live almost 1-2 hours away and 3 other children! We also still have bills that still need to be paid. i had to quit my job at 6 weeks old with her to care for her medical needs. Dad is on intermittent leave but does NOT get paid for it. We have so many bills to catch up on. 

Lainey Ray is diagnosed with

•Tracheobronchomalacia• is a rare condition that some babies are born with. The walls of your child's windpipe (trachea) and airways (bronchial tubes) are weak and soft. The weak walls will narrow or block the airways and make it hard for your child to breathe. As your child grows, the walls of the trachea and bronchial tubes can get stronger and harder, If the problem is mild most children can outgrow it by age 1-2. Unfortunately for Lainey Ray’s, hers is mostly severe, mild AND completely collapsed on the right side. if your child continues having blue episodes of choking, problems with noisy breathing, coughing, or any exercise intolerance or recurrent admissions to the hospital, despite maximal medical treatment, open chest surgery may be necessary.

• A little update on Lainey Ray •

She will more than likely get sick at least once a month. We have her on every preventative medication and plans in place for when she does start to get sick. We do not know how long this will last since she is so severe. Her airways are even trying to make their own holes so she can try to breathe. So for now all we can do is just support her, see her Pulmo and ENT once a month or when she has to be admitted to Nortons Children’s Hospital. And we continue to see all her primary and secondary doctors here at home to check on her lungs and breathing…So as of right now we are just going to take it one day at a time. -
