Karla’s son was in a serious accident

Hi my name is Susie, I’m starting this Gofundme for Karla Velasquez. Karla is a single parent, her only son Ricardo was in a bad car accident on 3/30/24 and sustained serious injuries. Karla’s income is vital as she helps to take care of her mother since her step dad passed away from Covid. Most of Karla’s family are in El Salvador so she does not have much support. Ricardo is currently in the ICU at Riverside Community hospital. He has a broken pelvis, ribs, jaw, clavicle and some other internal injuries. He had surgery yesterday for his jaw and pelvis and has a trach tube in place. He has a long road ahead of him and Karla needs to be by his side and therefore unable to work right now. update 4/4/24

Ricardo is still in ICU, Karla is still by his bedside as a mom that’s all she can think about right now. He can finally have liquids but his jaw is wired shut and he still has the trach in place until swelling around his windpipe goes down. We are hoping he keeps progressing to get the trach removed.

Hello everyone, thank you for all the prayers and different ways of supporting us thru these shocking moments. My son is now in med-surg trauma room, recuperating and adjusting to many challenges.
