A very close friend of mine named Jeremy Wang lost his mother to breast cancer very recently. His father is now left with 2 years of hospital bills, 3 kids, and his deceased wifes parents to take care of.

Here is Jeremy's story:
In 2014, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during my freshman year. My mom began to undergo chemotherapy during the fall. It was hard for her to deal with the chemo, as she experienced a lot of pain during the process.
As a family, we each tried to take care of her. She was still able to function and do many things on her own. But we were shocked when she made the decision to stop chemotherapy soon after. She stayed off the treatment until the fall of 2015, when her cancer advanced to stage three.
That same year, I been training to prepare for my sophomore year of soccer. But as her condition worsened, our family had to do more to take care of her. A few weeks before tryouts, my mom asked if I would help out and put aside soccer for that year. I decided to put aside soccer and help my mother. My grandparents also came to help out with their daughter(my mother).
During the summer, my mom received surgery at Stanford Hospital. The operation was successful and we thought that she was alright. However, a few weeks later a new tumor was discovered in a regressed state. This time it grew quickly. My mom was put under chemotherapy, but chose to quit after a few weeks. She decided to try and fight the cancer using other methods.
After school started, her condition worsened to the point of her being unable to walk. She spent most of her time in bed. Around the end of October, she was being surrounded 24/7 by nurses. Her health state deteriorated and she passed away on the morning of November 7th, 2016.
