Hello, I am raising funds for 46 year old Carlos Flores Velasquez, an immigrant father who was deported and has since suffered a very serious stroke due to a brain aneurysm that suddenly burst. He is located in rural Chiapas, and while working there the other day he had a stroke and was taken to the local hospital, where they didn’t have the proper medical equipment to conduct brain surgery. His family includes a son who lives in the United States and a daughter who lives in Honduras; his son immediately left work and traveled to Mexico to care for his father, who had to be transported by ambulance for 4 hours through Chiapas just to receive the surgery he needed. By the time he arrived at the other hospital, his condition was so extreme that they had to rush him in and conduct cranial surgery right away.
We are asking for support from the community to raise funds for this father’s medical needs, as he cannot talk, walk, or breathe without oxygen at the moment. To be very transparent we have broken down the approximate funds we hope to raise and are needed as of now:
* Cranial surgery = $4,000
* Medical transport (so far, he will need to be transported a few more times in the near future) = $1,500
* Post-surgery hospital care = $4,000 (including exams, medicine, oxygen, physical therapy, etc.)
At this time there is not an estimated window of recovery considering that he is still breathing with oxygen. Hoping he can breathe without it in the near future, we can then begin the slow recovery process and figure out his care needs.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and/or contributing. We appreciate any and all awareness brought upon this man’s life, may Creator pay it forward to you and yours.
