Donations for Doomvana

Silvana Sanchez, known to Detroit and her tens of thousands of Instagram followers as Doomvana, has made a name for herself through her incredible photography work and high-profile CVTLDOOM events. Her events showcase local talented performers as well as musicians from all around the globe, and also champion and uplift a diverse community. It's well known that Silvana strives to create an authentic and welcoming space for all, based on a code of acceptance and open-mindedness. It's one of the millions of reasons that we've all come to know and adore her, and why we need to rally our community around her now.

Silvana has encountered some severe and unexpected health issues, and has been unable to work while awaiting further news on her upcoming appointments and procedures:

From Silvana-

"About 3 months ago I was taken to the ER for having an unexpected grand mal seizure that left me unconscious. I got some tests done and MRIs and doctors found a lesion in my brain as a result of my brain tumor removal surgery back in 2016. I’ve had 4 brain surgeries before and have spent most of my 20s living in hospitals as well as being forced to drop off from law school after 4 years in college to get my treatments done to save my life. I also had to move to Brazil to get these surgeries done because my home country Venezuela did not have the proper technology to perform the surgery I needed.

I came to the USA at the end of 2018, with hopes of a fresh new start from zero after going through so much and all I can say is that I have never felt more at home than now, the friendships and family I’ve made here have brought nothing but joy and knowing that I have so much support from people that care about me, makes this tedious journey I’m about to embark on feel a little bit easier to navigate.

As of right now, I have nerve pain on my arm that prevents me from driving and going to my job. The medical bills are adding up so if anyone would like to get any prints, merch or even book me for a photoshoot I’d really love that! I’d also just love to do as much and create as much as I can this year. Staying busy and continuing to express myself artistically is my own therapy. So thank you to everyone who has helped me built such a beautiful artistic environment for myself and others throughout the years.

I can only hope to continue to inspire and bring more people together for as long as I can breathe. "
