Donations For Dedra Caldwell

Hello, my name is Chris Martin and I’m spearheading this fundraising campaign for my cousin Dedra Caldwell. Around the first week in January, Dedra tested positive for Covid which led to double pneumonia and horrible infection in her foot. After days of fighting the infection the doctors had no choice but to amputate her right leg. Dedra was then placed on a ventilator for 16 days as her lungs were to weak to function on their own. As her condition began to improve, we soon discovered that Dedra suffered a bilateral stroke and had no clue how this would affect her moving forward since she was still sedated.

 

Dedra’s condition improved and she left Memorial Hospital in early March and was moved to an Ochsner rehab facility in Slidell to began the road to recovery. While Dedra still has a long way to go, my family and I are so thankful, amazed and in awe of God’s healing power! Dedra was released from the rehab facility on March 24th and will finish rehabbing from home.

 

Dedra is truly a miracle! She takes on both the emotional and physical battles with optimism and determination every single day. In addition to the calls and texts that she and our family are so grateful for, we want to help her financially due to the time missed from work. We are not sure just yet when Dedra will be able to return but it’s one of her goals and we have faith that it will happen. In the mean time let’s do what we can to make sure she’s taken care of. Whatever you have to give is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.
