Donations for Chips Surgery - "The Salt Kured Pup"

Not really sure how to start this off - haven't really had time to process everything & I dislike asking for help so i'm just going to shoot it straight...

Chips is my first pet - he has taught me so much over the years & has helped me through some tough times. We have traveled together, moved to different states & at this point i'm convinced we understand eachother. He has been a part of my life since he was 3 weeks old & his spots are literally a part of the SALT KURED logo - he has always been healthy until recently.

To cut to the chase - he is in need of two different surgeries. I have yet to find out if both can be done at the same time but, here is what I do know:

2 weeks ago I took him to the vet because I noticed something was off. After 4 xrays, blood/urine tests, basically the works - I found out he has cystine crystals in his bladder & there are some that are too big for him to pass on his own. I was also notified of enlarged glands that would need surgery for them to reduce in size. He was given a new food diet & two different prescriptions - to aid with inflammation & prevent the cysts from getting worse. At this point, I am in over 2k.

Friday before leaving for Reggae Rise Up, I went back to his vet to pick up the refills for his prescriptions & was told to sit down. Although I was aware of the possibility of surgeries - I wasn't prepared to hear that my vet wouldn't be the one performing them. I would have to find a different facility to handle both surgeries & his aftercare which could be 2+ days. I went to RRU regardless of this news because I figured it would be better to get out there immediately to raise funds than sit at home & cry about it. I was able to come home with $400 after gas & food - big thank you to KYLE SMITH BAND for hooking it up on the entry + parking &&& BADDA SKAT + HERBAL REMEDY CLOTHING for the vendor spot.

As of today (3/21/22) - I scheduled a consultation with a surgeon for tomorrow morning at 9am. Not sure how much it's going to cost but I have the $400 from RRU so I hope that covers it. Both of his Doctors have a scheduled conference call this afternoon & I guess we wait for the final treatment plan + final estimate.

I have set the goal for $10,000 since I do not have the final numbers at this time - I will post updates on the status of everything as it comes. If there are any funds left over, I will be donating them to PEGGY ADAMS ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE to help with their mission.
