In Niger, little over 15% of adults can read & write. The average years of schooling is a mere 1.5 years, and only 5.2% of Nigeriens have any secondary education.
The continued armed insecurity in several regions in the country of Niger has caused countless families to flee their homes. This has resulted in the closure of 579 schools, of which 392 are located in the region of Tillaberi. This is a significant number of school closures. Education allows for the protection of displaced children from forced recruitment by harmful terrorist groups, unlawful child labor, and the exploitation of young girls in the practice of child marriage.
The CSP Alheri Tillaberi school is a dedicated scholastic establishment offering protection and quality education for these children who have been displaced and lack a venue for learning. The founder's vision is to promote quality education and an equal chance for all children to access school & succeed. Alheri is home to children from preschool through 12th grade. With your help, in the form of student sponsorships and donations, we will be able to reintegrate adequate learning for more than 470 refugee students.
Your donations will provide these refugee students with school essentials such as textbooks, school supplies, and tuition assistance.
