Trying to raise funds for medical supplies. My little sister Ann Marie was overdosed with potassium at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen and was left with an anoxic brain injury. Since then, she has been in and out of nursing homes where she has gotten severe wounds due to being in bed 24/7 and sadly also due to neglect from the nursing home. We have now found a program that allowed us to take her home and as insurance did cover some things, it did not cover everything. Sister still needs an alternating air mattress, most importantly, which isn't covered with insurance. The importance of her needing it is due to her coming home with severe open wounds . Her muscle tone coming home from the nursing home is different, and the regular mattress provided hurts her, as she has been on an alternating air mattress for 3 years whether in a nursing home or hospital. In the two weeks she's been home so far, she has been in pain from her wounds. She is fighting a brain injury as mentioned, and I wasn't able to pay for the certain type of rehab she needs so we have been doing the best we can for her care through nursing homes here locally From being in a vegetative state, we were able to get her to a minimally conscious state with the help of a neurologist from Edinburg, but the nursing home failed to provide her the neurologist orders for treatment such as PT, OT, ST, etc. I have fought for over a year for her to be discharged properly home due to everything she has gone through and finally got her home, but we are very limited on supplies with her insurance, and she requires items more frequently than what they provide. So far we have been selling plates to keep up with buying items such as diapers, gloves, wipes, pads, suction yaunkers, suction supplies, sponges for the mouth, split sponge gauze (for peg), medications that aren't covered by insurance, and other daily necessities for Ann. We are told later diapers will be covered with incontinent supplies but at a limited amount (which we still haven't received), and it's not enough for the proper care she needs, so we are also trying to raise funds to keep up with caring for her. Anything will help even if not donations, supplies can be sent to 2508 Lotus St. Harlingen, TX 78550. We are also selling many items outside at times and through social media if interested, as well as plate sales on certain dates. Thank you and God bless.

**A little bit more about my sister, she is only 36 years old with two children whom we also take care of now. Her youngest son is autistic and was her best friend! She was always a loving, funny, giving person who could bring a smile to your face. She faithfully took care of her elderly mother when she could for years before this happened. Likewise, she worked at the same job for over 20 years, cleaning houses and caring for others. She deserves the world, and not being able to properly care for her due to a lack of supplies is hard for us. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again.
