On Sunday the 26th of June, 15 year old Dacean Thomas was in a horse accident sustaining severe head trauma. She was taken to a nearby hospital and life flighted to Billings, MT where they performed surgery removing a piece of her skull to relieve pressure from the swelling and also to get the blood from the bleeder on the brain and check for any possible blood clots. A couple hours after surgery they then flew Dacean and her mom , Darby Thomas , to Salt Lake to Primary Children's Hospital where Dacean was put into ICU. On June 28th Dacean was well enough to be moved out of ICU and into a room in the NEO Trauma Unit. Dacean is so strong and is doing extremely well for the type of accident she was in but has a very long road to recovery. In the last couple of days she has recognized all visitors and has smiled and held conversations with them!
Dacean is very involved in many different things in her life but horses are her passion. She is the current Cowley Rodeo Queen and she performs in Mounted Shooting. She is very intelligent and athletic and enjoys to participate in school sports. Dacean is loved by many people and has one of the most Beautiful hearts and that shines through to the outside, a true Beauty in and out!
