In Memory of Vanessa M. Hatuka

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of Vanessa’s passing.

On October 7th, 2022, Vanessa M. Hatuka, age 42, was struck by a car that jumped and crossed the center

median, resulting in a head-on collision, which left Vanessa fighting for her life at Jackson Memorial’s

Trauma Center. Sadly, Vanessa succumbed to her injuries and died just hours after the accident. Vanessa’s

sudden and tragic passing has left her family and friends in shock and disbelief.

Vanessa was taken from her sweet boy, 13-year-old Carlos Marcelo Ruiz, far too soon. Carlos will never

again be able to hug or kiss his mom. Vanessa will never again celebrate Carlos’

milestones/accomplishments; share laughs, watch movies or help him with homework. With the

upcoming holidays just around the corner, Carlos will be feeling the loss of his mother more than ever.

The photo posted of Vanessa with her son Carlos was taken last Thanksgiving (2021). No one could ever

imagine that Vanessa would not be here to celebrate another year.
