Donation in Memory of Eva J Ferree

Dear Friends, Family, and kind hearted individuals. I am writing this with great sadness as I lost my wife of 41 years last evening. This is a fight Eve had been fighting for over a year. It started last year when she went into respiratory arrest which led her to cardiac arrest. She survived in the Critical Care Unit on life support with the help of a ventilator, and at this time she had brain waves and pupillarity responses. The doctors gave us hope that with a tracheostomy it would improve her chances of coming back to us, and her quality of life would either improve, decline, or stay the same. After the tracheostomy, she improved and went to a skilled nursing unit where she improved, and went into a rehabilitation center where she stayed and continued to fight to come home. She completely turned herself around after being in the care of the rehabilitation center, but this year when the same thing happened, she just couldn't hold on any longer. When she went into cardiac and respiratory arrest she was gone too long, and the doctors said her brain suffered too much damage that she would not recover from. At 10:30 last night, she went home. We were able to spend a month together, and the time was precious.
