We have decided to organize this fundraiser to help our friends, Chris & Jess as their 3 year old daughter (our God daughter, Paisley) will soon be going through major surgery. Paisley hadn't been feeling the best the past few months (off and on abdominal pain and throwing up). Finally, this week the hospital started all sorts of tests on her and after finding lots of inflammation & something abnormal in her abdomen, rushed her to the IWK Hopsital for Children in Halifax that same night. Since being there, they have of course completed more tests to finally conclude that she was born with a rare condition called choledochalcyst. It got to a point that the inflamation caused pancreaitis and everytime she ate, her stomach would push against her pancreas and caused so much pain that her poor little body rejected it by vomiting. As soon as her acute pancreitis can get normal again and she is healthier, they will be operating her to remove the abnormality & part of her intestine along with her gall bladder(they will also have to re creating new passages for toxins to be flushed correctly from her body). As of now, they will be at IWK for a minimum of 2 weeks and then more healing time at home. We have a long road to recovery, but Paisley is a very strong girl!Thankfully, it was caught before it turned into cancer and the doctors confirmed it's a very rare condition in North America. As you may imagine, it is already a very stressful situation...therefore we didn't want her parents to also have to worry about finances and bills coming in while with their baby at IWK.
