Matthew Murphy's Medical Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
On February 1, 2023, at 11:28pm, my brother, Matthew, passed away at only 21 years old. This was a shock to all of us. He went into the ER at CHOP in Philadelphia on Monday morning, and was gone from this world on Wednesday evening. The drs tried to do what they could, but there were too many issues and his poor body just couldn't take it any longer. He spent his last hours surrounded by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. As we (3 sisters and 1 brother) are in Florida, we couldn't be there. He spent his last few moments with our Dad and his Mom. His Mommy crawled into bed with him, and within minutes, he was gone. Just one more time to sleep with his Mommy. I know he felt comforted.

Matthew would light up a room with his smile. In his short years, he was loved by so many people. He has a loving mother and father who completely adored him, as did all those who knew him. He was their life!

For those of you who didn't get a chance to meet Matthew, I want to give a little background. He was born to two wonderful, loving parents, Jim and Donna Murphy. He was a very welcomed surprise to all of the family. When he was young, we found out that he had autism. He received the best care and attention with that diagnosis. Both his parents did everything they could to assist him in every way. As he got older, we all cherished when he could have a conversation with us. We would say, "I love you, Matthew." To which he would always respond, "Love you so much!" As his sister, to hear him say, "Jacki" warmed my heart every time.

Later on Matthew developed kidney stones and had to have multiple procedures for them. He also was diagnosed as diabetic and had to learn how to live with that as well (along with many other things). There have been many ups and downs for Matthew, my dad and Donna, but they have been there for Matthew ALWAYS.

Now, we will have to navigate this world without Matthew. As a big sister, it breaks my heart. I can't even begin to imagine what our Dad and Donna are feeling and will feel. I would love for this fundraiser to take away some of the burden from them, as the weight they have to carry is more than any parent ever should.

These donations will mainly be used to pay medical bills that have come in and will come in. As you can imagine, it won't be a small amount. Donations will also help as Donna will need to have some time off work, and bills still need to be paid. Any amount will help, big or small. If you aren't able to help financially, please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers, especially my dad, Donna, and Donna's parents (Matthew's grandparents).

We love you big, Matthew! We always have and always will!
