Hi, my name is Jen, I'm Lori's daughter. As you may know, my Mom is bravely battling Stage IV bile duct cancer. She's onto her third form of chemo and recently lost her job as she is no longer able to perform her daily tasks. She's very weak as her body tries to heal between treatments.

My Mom is being taken care of by her wonderful and loving husband of nearly 20 years, Ted Converse. My step-Dad has been by her side every day taking her to appointments, and preparing healthy meals for the two of them. He's currently on L&I due to a construction related work injury. He's also dealing with chronic pain while he takes care of my Mom.

Due to the loss of my Mom's job which helped to cover both of their insurance, they are now on Cobra which they pay for out of pocket while they navigate their insurance options. They're also paying out of pocket for additional expenses related to both of their medications, treatments, etc.

I'm taking care of this GoFundMe as I want to take one more stress factor off of their plate. My Mom and Ted are incredibly independent and hardworking people, they would be the LAST people to accept a GoFundMe. I very much appreciate their openness to accepting their community's love and help during this time.

My Mom and I August 2015 for my wedding, we exchanged handmade quilts we made for one another.

All donations will go directly to My Mom and Step-Dad. The current goal is set to: $27,900 to help cover insurance and their deductible. Anything over the goal will help my Mom and Step-Dad Ted to cover additional costs associated with battling this rare form of cancer and the cost of living while they both are unable to work.
