MY MOTHER JAIME DRISKELL was a beautiful person who been through a lot of dark things growing up. She was the Rock of our small family. She had to be the strong one when her mother, Grandfather, Aunt, and Grandmother passed and all of these deaths were within months of each other back to back.. she went to seek help from a professional therapist that was recommended to her and the first thing the therapist did was prescribe my mother narcotics. That’s when the battle begun. Eventually her behavior when she was under the influence would just get worse and worse over the years I would ask her sometimes once she became sober... “Why mom? We hate when your on those things you don’t need narcotics they make you a different person”... She would cry & always tell us how sorry she was & that she would stop.. to her it just numbed the pain, it made her forget about her financial issues, personal issues, things I didn’t know about, she would say things like “She felt beautiful and alive when she would take the medication it made her FORGET” My mother became addicted... it was nothing in this world she loved more than her kids and family. She went to get help, we prayed, she prayed, she would write notes to God that I found asking him to please take this addiction/disease out of her body. She truly tried her best... but her mind just wasn’t strong enough to do it alone. March 2020 she had an heart operation and I remember being so scared not only because of the possible outcomes but COVID-19 was in effect and I just felt at this time having a open heart surgery at the hospital was the worse. BUT SHE SURVIVED THAT SURGERY WITH THE NO HEALTH ISSUES AND THE DOCTORS SAID SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO COME HOME AFTER SHE FULLY RECOVERED BUT........ he also said
“JAIME YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE AND THE THINGS YOU WERE DOING BEFORE YOU CAN NO LONGER DO YOU JUST HAD A VERY SERIOUS SURGERY”
 she agreed ... she came home ... she was home for 2 weeks we were all so happy because we just got through this hard time & we thought she was going to finally stay on the right path this time... she was doing good and then she came by my house may 24th around 3pm I automatically knew ... I seen it in her eyes .. I could always tell by looking in her eyes. She was under the influence. I was so angry and disappointed I gave her money she cried that she needed it.. then later that day at 3am I was getting a call from my little brothers cell I thought it was her asking for more money so I ignored it sent a text saying I’ll call her in the AM. 10min later A knock on my door ... I thought it was her coming to now demand for the money .. but it was my baby brother & sister and my Aunt ... told me the worse just happened.... she overdosed and the kids and and my dad found her in the bathroom. Paramedics took 30min to come! She deserved so much better she suffered all her time being on this earth, she took care of everyone always putting herself last! and I just want her soul to be able to rest knowing that her children will be okay and taken care of. She did not have life insurance and was in the mist of getting ready to move to an different apartment. I’m still in disbelief. That was my best friend , first love , and as I got older I stopped judging her!!! I love her so much!
anything will help I have my two younger siblings I have to look after now ...clothes , furniture ... anything will help. My mother was such a funny beautiful God fearing women may her soul sleep in peace. Her battle is over. In Jesus name. Amen.
