Donation for Education - Friends Without Borders
Donation protected
Our names are Juliana Sanchez-Tobar, Sophia Hoppe, and Sophie Nogueira. The project name is Friends Without Borders because not only are we tutoring locally, but we are also tutoring online with the children of the The Fernando Borrero Caicedo Foundation School in Colombia. Our goal is to raise $500 for the purpose of purchasing books for our tutoring project. The proceeds of the fundraising will go into buying books and school materials for the children at the Macedonia Church in Coconut Grove. We plan to extend the summer program that the administrators hold at the church throughout the year. We as a group want to provide books that will help improve the children's knowledge and their eagerness to learn. Thank you so much for being a part of our impact.
- I (the gofundme account holder) have a personal connection to the Macedonia Church because I volunteered over the summer there to help the children with reading and math.
- My partner has a connection with the Fernando Borrero Caicedo Foundation in Colombia because she knows the man who runs the school and her dad has connections.
- We are taking the money and buying school school supplies to donate to the Macedonia Church in Coconut Grove and the Fernando Borrero Caicedo Foundation in Colombia.
- Our fundraiser is solely focused on the donation of educational supplies to benefit children of young age (5-12).
- The donors of our gofundme are friends and family of our group. For example aunts, grandparents, close friends, and former co-workers of our parents.
- We reached out to our donors through text message. For example, on parent group chats, our gofundme link was sent out by our parents. Also, we asked our friends if their parents could donate money.
