Hi,
My name is Suma and I am raising money to help complete the construction of Abhaya Anjaneya (Hanuman) temple in my home town of Yeshawanthapura, Bangalore, India.
This is a temple that is approximately 400 years old, initially Sriram temple but later after a Mughal invasion only a tall pillar with the Hanuman diety carved at the base was left behind. Local people over time started worshipping this Lord Hanuman by building a small temple structure around the pillar.People in this area have deep rooted faith on this diety as they have sought the blessing of lord Hanuman during marriages of their sons or daughters or on any other auspicious occasion.
But in the recent years the temple has been falling apart with rat infestation and crumbling old mud walls. Because of this local people have formed a trust which took the decision to build a new temple using stone construction. They have already spent £10,000 of equivalent Indian rupees and they need another £25,000 to make sure the project is completed.
I would be very grateful if you can help me raise as much as possible towards this noble cause of resurrecting the ancient village temple.
