Hello, this is our beautiful girl, Maple. She’s shy and reserved, but once she lets you in, her love is something special. Maple is tenderhearted, loyal, and incredibly soulful — the kind of dog who quietly chooses her people and then sticks by them with her whole heart.

She has her quirks, too, the ones that make her Maple: her beloved burger toy that she proudly throws around, her love of lying by the fire like she owns the place, and her obsession with ice cubes — her favourite crunchy treat. She pretends to dislike the neighbour’s cat, but somehow, it always gets away.

On December 22nd, Maple was rushed to emergency care with suspected anemia. It was the last thing we ever expected to face, and we're so lucky to have caught it earlier than most. Doctors are working to diagnose her so we can plan the best path forward. Seeing her unwell has been heartbreaking, and all we want is to get her the care she needs so she can come home and be her loving, burger‑toy‑throwing self again.

The tests, medication and monitoring she needs come with significant costs, and they’ve quickly become overwhelming for my wife (Jess) and me (Joe). Once we receive a formal diagnosis, treatment costs will be in addition to this. For full transparency go fund me sets a moving target, our end target is 7000.

Maple has given us nothing but love, and we’re doing everything we can to give her the same in return. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward her care. If we’re fortunate enough to raise more than Maple needs, we’ll donate the remainder to a local animal shelter to help other animals in need.
