“DONATING SUNSHINE”

I have a very special friend that’s like a sister to me named Simone Fields. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2010. Since August 2010, she has battled four different forms of cancer including (breast, pelvic, lung, and stage 4 bone cancer). But I would like to say that cancer has not won the battle. Simone is a fighter! Simone gets up every day and laces up her shoes and boxing gloves to prepare for battle. She gets dressed even if there’s nowhere to go that day. She tells me “ I put on my best to feel the best”. Simone gives her all to survive another day.

Throughout the years, we’ve lost touch with one another, and as of 2018, we were joined together again by a mutual relative/friend. On this journey, she has shown me what it means to be a fighter. She thanks me all the time for helping her, not knowing that she is the one that’s helping me get through trying times.

Whatever in this life she has acquired, she has equally given back. No matter how much pain she is in or whatever she’s going through, if someone calls on her to do something, she never says no. She’s one of the most forgiving and selfless people I’ve ever met. Now I want to try and do something for her.

Recently Simone has been in extreme pain due to the bone shot Xgeva. It has caused gum swelling and all of her teeth to decay. She hasn’t been able to eat food properly, or at all, for 4 months. After consulting with her doctors, they decided to extract her teeth and make her some dentures. This will reduce the chances of the cancer spreading or osteoporosis spreading in that area.

Simone has been traveling more and more to the cancer center. As a result her expenses have increased. Out of pocket costs have gotten expensive. I’m asking, from my heart, if you all would, please, give a special donation to help her with some of her medical expenses, dental expenses, and hotel accommodations at the cancer center.

She has had many dark days and nights. Therefore I want to be able to shed some light and love on her. Her love for life is infectious. I want to see her smiling face.
