Hello Friends!
My name is Dani Tracy and I am a 24 year old living in San Clemente, CA. If you know me at all, you know that you can always find me somewhere near the beach with my dog, Boda and a guitar. Well, at least that was before the accident happened.
On October 7th, 2016 I took a trip to Laguna Beach with a couple friends and Boda, of course. I planned on finding a gift for my mom, who is currently living in Virgina and battling appendical cancer. After I found her something sweet, my friends and I decided to cross the street at PCH and Anita in order to look at some waves at the beach. I remember picking up my dog, looking all directions, and crossing. I got right to the middle of the crosswalk when I was hit by an oncoming vehicle, that failed to stop as I was passing by. I was sent flying and landed on the left side of my body, which caused me to break my pelvis, along with my sacrum (tailbone). I'm a tough cookie when it comes to pain and I hate asking people for help, but this time the pain is different and this time, I really am in need of help from others.
I am healing day by day, but I was just going to start training at a popular local restaurant in San Clemente. Unable to walk or carry anything, I am currently unemployed and not even able to apply for most jobs. I remember refusing a ride to the ER after I got hit, complaining about the fact that I have no health insurance and wondering what the heck I'm going to do to support me and Boda.
I am so lucky to be alive. I truly believe I had an angel with me on that day, but regardless, I cant help but to worry constantly about whats going to happen next. Thats why I'm starting this fundraiser and asking for your help. Any donation is highly appreciated to help me and Boda through this difficult time. The money will be used to cover some medical and living expenses while I'm off of my feet.
I cant wait to be up and walking again and I plan on doing something about that intersection. We need Laguna Beach to put up a traffic light at that crosswalk. I never want this to happen to anyone else. If anyone has any tips to offer on how I can get that started, or on who I should contact, thats a donation I would appreciate even more so!
