PLEASE take time to read this. It may seem like a lot, but I could use any help that I can get. For people that know me, you may know that this is hard for me to do, but here I am. Throughout the last 2 years I have struggled and will continue to struggle with declining health. Some family and friends know, but for the most part, I haven't advertised my situation. Though with my newest set of test results, I am needing to seek new options and share my problems.
A few years ago I started having issues with partial lose of vision, excessive dry mouth, and dry eyes. I went through a gauntlet of testing, spanning almost 9 months, before making any headway on a diagnosis. During that time I had to have an MRI, retinal mapping, and full spectrum vision tests. Finally I had an eye specialist run an ANA screening that I failed.
Since then I have been to 6 different specialist and run through another gauntlet of tests. I have been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune and systemic diseases that will continue to cause a decline in health. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Raynauds Phenomenon, Sjogrens Syndrome, and potentially Crest or HHT.
Most recently I had to have a biopsy done on my kidney, in which the outcome was disheartening. I been diagnosed with Severe chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis in both of my Kidneys. In layman terms I have been diagnosed with acute kidney failure. My kidneys are not filtering the protein, creatinine, and other waste out of my blood. Immediately I have to start multiple new medications to stop further kidney degradation. With this diagnosis I am currently taking 10 different medications ( 18 pills) daily and 2 different types of eye drops daily. Along with this diagnosis, they are uncertain if the medications will help , nor for how long. There is a strong chance that I will have to move on to dialysis in the future.
I am at the point currently, with my medical bills and prescription needs, that I could use some support from family and friends. Even friends of friends and complete strangers. Prior to this year I owe almost $6000 in medical debt.
I have this year had to have an ultrasound or my Kidneys, then an outpatient Kidney Biopsy procedure, and a chest X-ray. I have to have repeat bloodwork done with the new medications to monitor kidney function. I have on the schedule for this next month an Echocardiogram and a breathing assessment with the pulmonary lab.
That being stated I am starting off this new year having to meet my family deductible, which will easily double this medical debt number. Any support that I can get at this time would be greatly appreciated.
And though it shouldn't matter I am going to throw out the "mom card". I have two young kids, that are trying to understand why mom is always exhausted, anxious, and stressed out. I would move mountains and walk 1000 miles just to alleviate their concern. Though I can't do that, stressing less about my medical bills would most assuredly help.
