Dusty Vassey Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
On September 8th, 2017 Dusty Vassey passed away from cancer. As the lead reporter for the local newspaper, The Ocilla Star, Dusty was known by nearly everyone in his local community. Over the past year Dusty spent a lot of time investigating and reporting on Tara Grinstead's disappearance with me. His voice became a staple of the Up and Vanished podcast. Over time, Dusty and I developed a strong freindship that extended far beyond our search for truth in this South Georgia mystery.
Dusty was genuine, he was kind, he was funny - and he was also an amazing writer. In honor of Dusty, his mother Mandy has created a scholarship fund in his name, to be awarded to students who pursue their passion in writing. I've created this GoFundMe so friends, fans, and loved ones can easily donate to this cause.
All the money goes directly to Dusty's mother Mandy, and will be used for the scholarship fund she has created.
