In the Amazon jungle, countless dogs are left abandoned, hungry, and vulnerable to disease. We are kindly asking for donations to save as many dogs in the Amazon jungle as possible. Every cent counts and can make a change.

On a visit to an island in the Amazon, we were greeted by a stray puppy. He was so happy to see visitors that he followed us everywhere, wagging his tail. But behind his smile was heartbreak.

Bonito was starved, sick, and covered in scabs that had made his fluffy fur fall out. He had a toothache, scratched himself constantly, and yet still carried that joyful, hopeful look in his eyes. When it was time to leave, he ran after us to the boat and stood on the shore, watching with confusion and sadness as we drifted away. It broke me. I cried for hours.

That day, our guide Angilla — a man who has dedicated his life to caring for abandoned dogs in the Amazon — gave me a hug and promised me he would help Bonito. And he kept his word.

Thanks to Angilla’s devotion, and the kindness of donors, Bonito has now fully recovered. He is healthy, loved, and finally safe.

But Bonito is just one of many. There are countless other dogs in the jungle who are still hungry, sick, and waiting for someone to care.

This is why I, Mika, am starting this fundraiser — to support Angilla’s work so he can continue feeding, vaccinating, and rescuing these forgotten best friends. Any amount helps, and every donation brings us closer to saving another dog.
