SAVING HUSSEIN SABRA

I have started this page as I am hoping to save the life of Hussein Sabra, a brave 12-year-old kid fighting brain cancer and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

Hussein’s Story

Hussein was born on the 6th of December, 2013, a healthy baby boy and the greatest gift for Ali and Chirine, his parents. That was the best day of their lives, but little did they know about the challenges ahead. In 2019, at the age of 5, Hussein started to have difficulty walking, losing his balance, falling, and hurting himself. His parents took him to the doctor, and after medical tests and research, he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a genetic condition that gradually causes the muscles to weaken, leading to an increasing level of disability. It is one of the most common and severe forms of muscular dystrophy, usually affecting boys in early childhood, destroying Hussein's dream of becoming a doctor, and leaving him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Tragedy strikes again

Despite all the challenges that his parents were facing, they never lost hope or gave up on their son and kept providing him with all the care and treatment needed. However, by the end of 2023, they noticed an abnormal movement in his eyes. They rushed him to the doctor again, and after an MRI scan, Hussein was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent an 8-hour brain surgery. The doctors were able to remove most of the brain tumor, however not all of it. Hussein's only option for survival is now to take a medicine called Zelboraf for the rest of his life.

How we can save him

The medical costs of Zelboraf treatment are $2700 per month. We cannot do this without your help, which is why I am here to ask you to share our page, spread the word, and donate whatever you can to help us save the life of the bravest boy I have ever met.

I know Hussein will not mean the same to you as he does to his family, but they are struggling every day to keep their child alive as he means the world to them, so anything you can do to help, they will be eternally grateful for.
