Those of you who know my big brother Anthony, whether it was growing up in Saugus or watching him on Big Time Wrestling as “Italy’s Greatest Athlete" AJ Mitrano, may know that he has been battling cancer.
Anthony was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia as of September 2013. For the past 9 months, he has gone through aggressive bouts of chemotherapy to get better. He has been in and out of Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Anthony has been receiving chemotherapy inpatient and outpatient treatments, fighting off fevers, pneumonia, sudden infections, and dealing with the extreme physical and emotional challenges that unfortunately, are included with chemotherapy and leukemia. Not only has Anthony been dealing with these ailments, but also has endured spinal taps and minor surgeries consisting of a port in his chest and implant of an Ommaya reservoir in his skull. Till this day, he is still moving forward with treatments and hoping for complete remission and most importantly, a cure!
We all realize how money can be a burden in our lives, but can also be a great blessing. Since Anthony was diagnosed, the expenses of medicine, treatments, insurance, medical bills, transportation and basic living expenses have been piling up significantly
Anthony is extremely independent as it is and never asks for help, let alone a request for money. My family and I are asking our friends, family, friends of friends, friends of family, acquaintances and anyone else that would be willing to make a donation to go solely towards Anthony for his medical expenses and to support his fight with leukemia.
