Donate towards Mister’s (Alexander’s) Health and Happiness!

I'm Jason, a quadriplegic of five years, married to Jennie, a 911 dispatcher. Our cat, Alexander, has been a part of our lives for the last 16 years. We got him and his sister when they were just a few months old back in 2009 a few years after Jennie and I met. Anyone who has ever visited has met Mister, as he is a very friendly cat who likes to meet people. In fact, my first memory of him was the day we adopted him, and I did not meet him until I came home from a rough day of work. When I sat on the couch he immediately jumped in my lap and fell asleep.

Just recently Xander has been developing edema in his back legs and stomach. His diet has not changed and he is still energetic. We immediately took him to the vet, who wasn't sure what is wrong with him. She suggested doing a full blood panel, x-rays, and testing his edema fluid. The tests will cost just under $900. At that point either he will need more testing or required corrective procedure/medication. I don't have much of an income; the majority of my SSDI goes towards rent and some of my medical needs. Jennie's income covers the rest of the gaps. Needless to say we don't have a lot of spare funds on hand for a random medical emergency for a cat. All donations will go towards improving Xander's health. Anything not used will tucked away for any future cat emergencies. In other words, donations will only be spent on his care. He means the world to me. He often sleeps on my chest overnight when I am alone to give me some company. He's a sweet, good boy.
