On September 1st, Alex Harrelson was brutally beaten by Cottage Grove Police during what was supposed to be a wellness check. Alex has schizophrenia and autism, but was communicative and following police orders when he was thrown to the ground and beaten by several police and a bystander, resulting in injuries including losing two teeth. Alex was then provided a city-funded public defender who railroaded Alex to accept a plea deal accepting charges despite video evidence of the situation.

Donations will be used to retain competent legal counsel and for Alex's medical and dental costs once he is released from jail. Alex's family will receive and use the funds as needed to support Alex's recuperation.
