Hi friends & family! As some of you may know, my sweet baby Zoey has had some health issues that started about a month ago. I brought her to the emergency vet & it was determined she had a UTI & could potentially be diabetic; which would make sense since as Zoey is not the smallest kitty. After being diagnosed with her UTI, she was unable to use the bathroom by herself, for 5 days I had to take her to the vet to have her bladder expressed; luckily with the help of two different medications she can now use the bathroom by herself. Which was a huge win! But with that being said, around this time her back legs started to give out regularly, sometimes with even just a few steps before she would collapse down to the floor. Results came back that she was actually not diabetic, yay! Which could have been the cause for the issue with her back legs but now we are left with that issue unanswered. She did start steroids to help alleviate the inflammation they thought could be part of the issue. She is now in a much better state but still not out of the woods, as her back legs still aren’t fully working and she still isn’t feeling her silly self. Her issue could be neurological but only time will tell. With that being said, I’ve contemplated making this gofundme at all as I have been lucky enough to be able to afford all her vet bills thus far with the help of CareCredit, paying out of pocket & other credit cards. This has been a very stressful month emotionally but the financial stress has almost been as equally unnerving. I’ve come to realize it’s okay to ask for help! My birthday is also coming up this month and if anyone is looking to help in any way or gift me something in any way, donating would be greatly appreciated. I’m aware others are in worse off positions than I am as it is a tough time in general & there is no expectation behind this at all. Any help at all would put me in a much better position as I have spent $3,500 already in vet costs, special food and medication; with more appointments to come.
