Hi my name is Zoe!

If you know me, you know I’ve been riding for almost a year and yes I have always been aware of the dangers and I take great precautions while riding but I also love the feeling of controlling the risk.

I unfortunately lost that control coming down highway 405 bridge last week. I went down from abruptly being cut off and sliding into lane next to me causing another vehicle on the road running over me without stopping, so a hit and run. With all my gear on I would have probably been able to walk away from it before the car ran over me. It is a crazy feeling thinking back to that moment of when I saw that wheel about to run over my head and then making me incapable to move out of the way, with knowing that my helmet truly saved my life.

This was a first for me, getting taken away in an ambulance, taken in the trauma department and having surgery. Now being home and in recovery it is also a first for me having to ask for help. Being this helpless and vulnerable with not being able to use both my arms for the time being has been scarier than I like to admit. This being said I look forward to getting motorcycle back on the road and I will not allow this to be the end of my journey riding. I am incredibly grateful that I am safe and alive and for the incredible team at ohsu and my family for giving me the best support I could need. I don’t want to have to ask but it would be truly appreciated if I could get some financial support during this time. Thank you and sending lots of love to you all!
