Hello! I'm Woody, a trans masculine cook in Upstate New York and after a long journey, I'm finally getting my gender confirming surgery! In a few short months I will be getting top surgery at Albany Med. Thankfully my insurance will be covering the entire procedure but I am looking to get some financial help to cover the month and a half out of work. I'm very fortunate that my job will let me have the time off and return to work at my own pace, but as a cook I don't have the luxury of any sick leave.

My care giver for my recovery is currently unemployed which is great for my comfort in healing, but this makes the loss of wages for my time out more difficult as I'm the bread winner for my household.

I'm looking for help in covering the cost of rent, bills, groceries, and any medical supplies I'll need during the main healing time period. My surgery is scheduled for October 15th, my surgeon advised that I'll most likely be able to return to work by mid-late November.
