Update as of March, 2026:
On May 28th, 2025, Will was in an accident where he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was rushed to Harborview Hospital in Seattle and spent close to a month in the Neuro ICU. From there, he was transported to Chicago to receive Neuro intensive rehabilitation at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. After 2.5 months in Chicago, Will was transferred to QLI (Quality Life Innovations) in Omaha, NE to begin his post acute care rehab. Will finally made it back home to Washington in October; 5 months following his accident.
Within the first few months of Will’s recovery he made immense progress, considering the set backs from 3 brain surgeries. He was able to graduate from a feeding tube to solid food. He learned to walk and talk again. He has gained muscle control of the left side of his body. His physical achievements have been impressive. Now, the focus remains on his cognitive abilities and his overall injury recovery. As far as Will has come, his recovery journey is not over yet.
On April 2nd, Will will undergo a major corrective surgery to his head, to fix an incorrectly sized bone prosthetic. Unfortunately, this surgery could have been entirely preventable, but Will is not letting it affect his strength and determination to recover. Our family is hoping that this surgery will not be a setback, but rather a huge milestone in his longterm recovery.
If you are monetarily able to assist in Will’s medical needs, it is greatly appreciated. This can be done through his GoFund Me page or by reaching out to his family directly. Will would also benefit from messages of support and encouragement, feel free to send those directly to the family.
